According to this plan, the AP government will pay Rs. 850 per month for the food regimens of expectant mothers and new moms in plain territories, Rs. 350 for infants, and Rs. 412 for children. Previously, the dietary programs only covered people with iron-deficiency disorders, but the new plans will cover everyone who is in need. There are over 47,287 Anganwadi centers in rural areas, providing security for almost 27 lakh women and children. Only Anganwadi projects in plain zones would receive funding totaling about 1,555 crores. The remaining funds would be set aside for 3 lakh women and their newborns in ancestral zones.

Enrollment Procedure

• To enroll the beneficiaries, Anganwadi workers will survey the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) catchment area.
• Under the AP Sampoorna Poshan Plus Scheme, children between the ages of six months and six years, nursing mothers, and pregnant women would all need to register.
• Information about the applicant will be recorded in the Common Application Software (CAS) to track service delivery.
• Every month, the Anganwadi center will monitor each child’s growth (weight and height).
• ASHA, ANM, and MO (PHC) will receive the list of SUM, SAM, and MAM children from the AWW/Supervisor.
• Each month, the weight of expectant mothers will be observed in the Anganwadi center and recorded in CAS.
• It is important to advise expectant and nursing women to use the provided take-home ration, which is based on energy and protein, without dividing it up among family members.
