- This initiative will use the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) database to identify the households that would be eligible for free power access. - In order to connect electricity to non-electrified residences, single-point wiring, energy meters (such as pre-paid or smart meters), and service line cables must be provided. The LED lights and related accessories adhere to the building standards and technological specifications.
- Repair and maintenance (R&M) terms for a five-year period will be provided to un-electrified households located in remote and inaccessible areas. These households can have power loads of 200 to 300 Wp (with a battery bank) and a maximum of five LED lights, one DC fan, one DC power plug, etc.
- The Saubhagya award system would also help the various State Power Departments, Power Distribution Companies (DISCOMs), and their staff reach 100% household electrification.
- Every DISCOM, including State Power and Private Sector DISCOMs
- Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramme Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), all DISCOMs, including the Private Sector DISCOMs, State Power Departments, and RE Cooperative Societies, would be eligible for the cash grant.
