Satat Scheme:- One of the goals of the SATAT program is to make compressed biogas (CBG), a sustainable alternative fuel, available in India. By 2024, the government plans to establish 5000 compressed biogas facilities, to produce 15 million metric tons of compressed biogas per year from diverse waste sources.

The government of India launched the SATAT Scheme (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) to establish compressed biogas production facilities and make the fuel available for use in automobiles by requesting expressions of interest from possible investors. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in partnership with several public sector organizations involved in the oil industry, including Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, introduced the Scheme in October 2018. The plan will support India’s efforts to uphold its commitment to cutting carbon emissions and meet obligations under accords like the Paris Agreement.

To encourage the use of agricultural wastes, animal dung, and municipal solid waste for compressed biofuel, PSU Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister in charge of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, have signed an agreement. Startling efforts have been made. Gas Production (CBG). A new source of income for farmers, the SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) program is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from prospective businesses to establish CBG production plants. Started during the Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada, the campaign adheres to Mahatma Gandhi’s goal of a Swachh Bharat. It addresses problems like effective management of municipal solid waste, air pollution in cities, and lowering the import of crude oil. The usage of CBG supports the Prime Minister’s goals of boosting entrepreneurship, rural employment, and farmer income.

Compressed biogas, or CBG, is an environmentally friendly and renewable fuel made by anaerobic digestion of organic waste. It is a fossil fuel substitute that is sustainable for conventional fuels like gasoline and diesel. Applications for CBG are numerous and include electricity generation, cooking, and transportation.
Through efficient use of organic waste, it lowers greenhouse gas emissions and aids in waste management. The manufacturing of CBG encourages the concepts of the circular economy by turning trash into useful energy. It promotes environmental sustainability and energy security while giving farmers and business owners financial opportunities.
India can combat global warming and become energy-independent with the help of today’s waste-to-energy strategy. With the abundance of biomass, waste from the sugar industry, municipal solid waste, and residual agricultural materials, compressed biogas production has enormous promise for creating a clean, alternative fuel for future use. To help start-ups and young businesses develop CBG facilities, the government, and other private companies offer business financing.
