Although this programme helps 2,000 qualified candidates annually, the number of girls who receive this scholarship is equal to the number of boys who receive it. On the other hand, the annual scholarship awarded to males is ₹2,500, while the scholarship awarded to girls is ₹3,000 per month. Furthermore, depending on how long the course takes, the scholarship’s length could range from one to five years. Furthermore, starting in 2019–20, 500 additional scholarships—250 for boys and 250 for girls—will be awarded to the dependents of State Police personnel who lose their lives in Naxal or terrorist acts.

Students must successfully complete their first two years of non-professional courses without failing, repeating, or taking a break (RA) in order to be eligible for the PM scholarship for dual degree integrated courses.
