The families of landholding farmers in India receive income support under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), a Central Sector Scheme. With the help of this program, farmers can obtain additional funding for a range of inputs linked to their domestic requirements and other agricultural-related activities.
PM-Kisan provides financial help to all landholding farmer families with cultivable fields. The project’s funding is provided by the Indian government. It aims to support farmers in paying their input costs so they may continue to grow healthy crops and a sufficient harvest.
The farmer households who qualify for financial assistance under the scheme’s rules are identified by the State Government and the UT administration. Under this arrangement, the money is transferred straight to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts after they have been recognized.

The current land ownership system is applied to determine the beneficiaries.
The following beneficiary categories, who fall into the higher economic status category, will not be able to receive benefits under the system.
All farmer families with cultivable land registered in their names receive income support of Rs. 6,000 annually under the PM-Kisan scheme, regardless of the size of their landholdings.
