For that purpose, the government has implemented various amendments to the pre-education policy as part of the National Education Policy 2023, with the goal of improving the quality of education and enabling children to access quality education.

Through the 5+3+3+4 structure, the government hopes to lay more emphasis on the cognitive development of the students. The government will advance the stages of schooling of children through this system for their benefit. Unlike the 10+2 framework, the 5+3+3+4 framework will enhance the foundation of the students from the foundational level to the secondary level. This new framework will also help the students to fully utilize their right to education. Because this structure looks after children aged 3 to 18 instead of 6 to 14.
As a result, students will be helped from the very beginning of their school life. Furthermore, this structure will be useful in increasing the student retention rate significantly. With the implementation of this framework, more students will remain in their respective institutions throughout their academic careers. In short, this new framework will benefit the students in every possible way. Moreover, the higher literacy rate under this system will only benefit the future of our country.
Due to technological advancement, digital techniques of teaching have recently become a component of school education. Let us take a look at the digital technologies that the government will adopt to improve education through NEP 2023.
The government will form NETF (National Educational Technology Forum). The aim of this conference will be to improve digital teaching methods in various schools by presenting new and innovative ideas.
The government will set up a new organization that will work across the country to provide more resources for digital education.
There will be technology integration to improve multiple tasks in the classroom.
Let us take a look at all the states that have implemented NEP since its inception.
The effects of the New Education Policy 2023 on various related categories are as follows:
The impact of NEP will not only be on students, but also on teachers and educational techniques. As per NEP 2023, a B.Ed degree is to work as a teacher in a school. Its attention-grabbing aspect is that this B.Ed course should be an integrated course of 4 years. Due to this strategy, only qualified teachers will be appointed in the schools, which will undoubtedly help in shaping the future of the students.
NEP 2023 will also affect students pursuing UG and higher education. As per the policy, the UG degree will last for four years and will be multidisciplinary, holistic, and flexible. In addition, students will be given multiple opportunities to withdraw from the degree program. For example, students will gain a certificate upon completion of a one-year vocational or professional field course. They will get a diploma after two years and a bachelor’s degree after three years.
The duration of PG courses will be limited to one to two years. In addition, the Master of Philosophy programs will no longer be available. The most ambitious decision in this program for college-level education is to phase out the college affiliation system over the next 15 years. Also, a new authority will be set up to oversee all higher education courses, except legal and medical courses.
One of the most important changes in the NEP is that students will be able to study in their mother tongue or regional language till class five. Further, the administration has said that this limit may be extended till class VIII. If students study in their mother tongue then they will be able to understand better what the professor is teaching them. This policy will also help students to know more about their native language.

The National Education Policy covers primary and university education in urban and rural India. The first policy for education was announced in 1968 and the second in 1986. The first NPE was established on the recommendations of the Education Commission (1964–66).
The policy envisages a holistic and integrated education approach, focusing on skill development, multidisciplinary learning, and the promotion of creativity and critical thinking. It also emphasizes the use of technology and digital resources to enhance the learning experience.
In fact, the NEP aims to increase the gross enrollment ratio in higher education to 50% by 2035. ✔ The major thrust of the new policy is on the use of technology to improve access
As per the new school education system defined in NEP 2020, children will have to spend five years in the foundational stage, 3 years in the elementary stage, 3 years in the middle stage, and 4 years in the secondary stage.
The new education policy is based on 4 main pillars access, equity, quality, and accountability. It will have a 5+3+3+4 structure consisting of 12 years of schooling and 3 years of Anganwadi/pre-schooling. The new education system for school education and college will be more flexible, holistic, and multidisciplinary.
