Purpose of Mahtari Vandana Yojana

Remove all forms of discrimination and inequality against women in the state; increase their position as decision-makers in the family; encourage economic self-reliance and empowerment; and bring about long-term improvements in health and nutrition.

Based on data from the National Family Health Survey 5 (2020–21), 60.8 per cent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 and 518 per cent of pregnant women have anaemia. In light of the aforementioned situation, the Council of Ministers has decided to implement the “Mahatari Vandana Yojana” throughout the state of Chhattisgarh, which will provide eligible married women with financial assistance of Rs. 1000 per month in order to strengthen the economic self-reliance of women in the state as well as their health and nutrition level. • Assistance to be Provided to the Recipient: During her qualifying period, each qualified woman will receive a monthly payment of Rs. 1000/-into her own DBT-based bank account connected to Aadhaar.
• Women who meet the eligibility requirements and receive monthly pensions under the Social Help Programme or other pension schemes administered by the Social Welfare Department but do not exceed Rs. 1000/- will be granted supplementary help in the same amount. in order for them to get Rs. 1000/-per month in total.
