Challenges of the Agneepath Scheme
No reform can be trouble-free and foolproof. The Agneepath Scheme is no exception; it pertains to national security and defense, so the government must foresee and deal with the issues that may arise after taking this audacious move. The following obstacles stand in the way of the plan:
- This recruitment strategy, known as “All India, All Class,” may cause a soldier’s devotion to his unit to deteriorate.
- The lack of health insurance and a pension can be a deal breaker.
- It’s possible that the little training period won’t be sufficient to give the Agniveers the same level of faith that the present military does. This can jeopardize commitment, morale, and training.
- The annual demobilization of “trained-to-kill” soldiers may become a threat if they continue to feel hopeless and resentful. Many think it might cause society to become more militarized.
